Kim Simpson is a musician and writer based in Austin, Texas. He earned his Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Texas at Austin in 2005, and has taught university courses in popular music. He recently worked as a consultant and historical advisor on the Peabody Award-winning rockabilly radio documentary, Whole Lotta Shakin’, and is writing a book for Continuum about early ’70s radio (forthcoming, 2010). Kim also hosts a radio program called “The International Folk Bazaar,” which airs every Thursday at 11 am on KOOP (91.7 FM in Austin and streaming live on the Web at koop.org). All posts on Boneyard Media, unless noted otherwise, are written by Kim.
